42 next month, just bought an FJ for my 40 year old wife Friday night. The salesman was saying that an 86 year old guy came in a few days before and bought an FJ, saying "My last three cars were Buick's, I ain't going out like that!"

I bought the first FJ in Iowa. Yellow 6 speed and I love it. I am 51 and this is the funnest car I have had in many years. Besides, I get a lot of young people saying how cool it looks!!!

Just saw a black fj today it looked a little bland, no highlights like the colored fj, it still looked good just no pizazz to it.

I'm 54 years old but the vehicle seems to fit my life style. Hunting fishing and generally out doors. Its been great so far. (Except for the noisy roof racks).

I think you are right. It is more of a lifestyle vehicle, than one targeted to a particular age. It certainly is not a Scion xB.

I think it looks like it is for older people. Sure you won't see to many in rap videos and with spinners. Which is good. Thinking of buying one in a year or two and keeping it forever. wanted to do that with my 4runner, but think my wife fell in love with it. I actually don't get to drive the 4runner much anymore.

You're never too old for an FJ Cruiser! I'm 47 years old and all my friends and family think it's cool that I own one. GO for it!!

Damn, am I the oldest FJ owner in this forum? I'm 54.5 years old, and picked my new Black Cherry Cruiser up from my dealer yesterday. I traded in my fully-equipped 2000 Land Cruiser with 126,000 miles on the odometer....

That was a great car, incidentally.

I have only had mine about a week and I am already getting used to the limited vis. On the plus side I love the privacy it offers. Also I have tinted front windows and I find with the roof the way it is and the windows I don't use my sunglasses much anymore.

Cool Re: Too old for an FJ?

I'm 56 but my FJ makes me feel good and love the comfortable ride compared to my old IHC Scout II. I've owned it for 2 days now and I'm impressed with the ride and build quality which are superb. I only drive on the street but was doing over 80MPH for the first time on the highway coming home from work tonight and the ride was solid, I guess you just have to watch out for the cross winds with the high center of gravity with the FJ. Love it in black and no roof rack. Killer stereo upgrade was a must have.

Thats a good one!

I took a peek at a FJ, looks pretty cool. If it had better mpg Id think about swapping my Tacoma for one. Its the same so I dont feel any urges. Plus the towing cap is 1500lbs less than the Tacoma. If I still had the 04 Tacoma rather than my 05, Id definitely trade.

According to the local Toyota dealership, you're way too young. I was told it was priced and marketed for the 45 to 55 year-olds. Salesman confirmed that most of their sales were in that age bracket, mainly for hunting and three that went to Dubai.
