After driving my new FJ off the lot the roof racks started to rattle at 5 Km/hr. Drove 10 Km home and removed the sliding portion of the racks. The fixed end does not rattle but the adjustable end is loose. This is a design flaw. The fix is some rubber or duct tape to absorb the vibration between the 2 parts. I will ask the dealer to work on this issue with Toyota Canada. Has any one taken delivery with roof racks? I assume this is a common problem. Tightening the adjustment has no effect because the looseness is not at that point.

My wifes is quiet no rattles, but we do get a little wind noise at higher speeds. Nothing major though.

no noise on the wife's FJ hope it stays that way

Hi I'm getting a noise from what sounds like the drivers side window but if you put pressure on the window still get the noice. It sounds high on the window or door when I hit sharp or washboard type bumps. Could this be comming from the roof rack or poss something else. Any ideas?

I understand that the earlier FJs had a rattle problem for the roof racks, The dealers have a washer kit fix for the rattle problem.

Do you know of any dealers in SoCal who can fix that? My dealer Ventura Toyota was completely unaware of it even after I gave them the TSB# and they said it may take months before they get that part.
