Default XM-ready, but no XM

This is my first post to this forum; looks like it is full of FJ enthusiasts!

So, I love the fact that my FJ is XM-ready, but the dealer is telling me that the factory XM unit will not be available until Fall '06. I'm wondering if: 1) is there a unit available that will work with the factory installed OEM faceplate, and 2) does anyone have this installed and is using it?

I don't want a separate XM unit mounted to my dash; rather, I'm looking for something more "factory-installed" inspired. Besides, who knows when Toyota will come out with the XM unit or what the pricing will be?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

you might want to try the toyota Pie aux in a since it allows for ipod/xm to be played on the factory unit.....I have a few pictures on the FJ from the test drive and allthought i didnt care for the FJ the radio wasnt that bad . IM not sure who makes the radio on them as note toyota has a lot of suppliers Jbl/ delco/ pioneer/ etc////

Very nice!

Did you buy at a national retailer or local store? And, approximately how much are we talking about?

I ordered XM on mine but it came in without it. The dealer told me there was a problem with the XM as it was causing interference with the FM radio and Toyota stopped installing. But should be availble in the near future.

just add factory navigation and be done with it.. You would be the only FJ Cruiser with it installed...It's nice to have a factory nobody else has OEM Audio, Video, Radios, Electronics, and Car Navigation Systems
