Default FJ Wind Force--can't run with open windows

Has anyone else been bothered by the wind force that blows the passenger and/or driver when the windows are opened more than an inch or two? With no back seat windows, the force is very strong and unsatisfactory. I read the sunroof thread and that doesn't seem to be an option. How about popping those rear windows out and making them vents? Any other way to deflect the wind? Pretty cool vehicle not to be able to open the windows.

WE have a Webasto 720 in our FJ, and don't seem to have too much wind from the sides?

yea i'll agree with you. it's definitely windy as hell!!! i don't really mind it though...although if i had a family this would not be the car for me AT ALL. but fortunatley i don't...i don't even think i've opened the back doors more than twice. although i wouldn't mind some back windows, i mean if you have some drunk bastards in the back of your truck they have no way to throw up!!!

You have a sunroof? The discussion surrouding this aftermarket feature has been fairly negative with respect to compromising the structural integrity of the vehicle. If you have had better luck (no problems, leaks, maybe even Toyota-aftermarket certified), please let me know! Also, would you divulge the cost? Does the sunroof span both passenger and driver? Power or manual? Thanks!

The sunroof is in the 700 series it might be the 790 but you can always check with vendor. Would have to look up company who installed it..think it was classic concepts here in Portland. Anyway it was $1100.00 took one day, doesn't mess with speakers, is in front of one of the cross memebers. Only cutting was solely roof sheet metal no cross memebers or pillar links. It fits about one inch towards the driv and passenger door ridge lines on top. It starts about six to eight inches back from the front windscreen and goes to about the seat head rest. Its big awsome and fully electric, with key shut off auto close. Still one strong tuff rig on top so no worries. Hope that helps. Oh by the way stay away from classic soft trim.. they wanted 1400.00 and three days to install...caus they don't know much, except for install on my two tundras (flat Roofs!).

For my first 625 km, I've run mainly with the windows closed when traveling at speed, for that very reason.
Has anyone installed the wind/rain window deflector kits? Do they make any difference to the open-window turbulence?
