The FJC is not designed to be "dingy towed" or pulled behind your motorhome. Most new Toyotas are not. However, I did see a company or two that designed a kit to make it towable. Most folks do not think it is worth the trouble when there are other comparable vehicles out there (Jeep)

They build the jeep that way for a reason..... they know ahead of time that it will need to be towed!!!!!
lol
Yeah, Toyota missed the mark on this issue, IMO. A very good friend of mine was all set to buy an FJC, but did not for this very reason. Of course, he quietly envies mine.

I'M looking at some off road vehicles, so far a jeep seems the only option.
solid front axle, tow-able, removable roof, hardcore off road,
and a world of after market stuff. downside is not very good quality,
gas mileage sucks 14 city 18 hwy. fun factor is thru the roof tho.
Heres a pic at what I'm seeing for now. net $26,810 Attachment 14158

heres what i mean about the quality.
this Jeep is still on the lot, but nothing else compares to the Jeep

You forgot the biggies, ride quality, and interior noise. They are just not comfortable for most people over 20 years old (notice I said most). Drive before you buy. I did, and said forget it, hardcore or not. The 2007's have improvements in both areas. I would wait for the 2007's and drive them before making your decision.
The FJ has the better ride and noise than almost any offroad 4x4 out there.
