Exclamation FJ Cruiser Roll Over

I was involved in a high speed roll over with my new FJ Cruiser (one of the first ones delivered in Canada) and I am now told that that there is a recall involving the tires (in the early FJ Cruisers) possibly causing loss of control at high speeds.
The vehicle was totalled and if not for the side curtain air bags the same would have happened to my son and I.
The Toyota people don't seem very interested in talking with me about the incident. Does anyone else have a similar experience??

The campaign states that there was an installation problem with the way the tires were mounted that may have caused damage to the tire.A bulge and/or an air leak may develop at that location. If the air all leaked out(i.e. you had a flat tire) at high speed,a loss of control may result.Did you have a flat? Did the low tire pressure warning light ever come on?

Our FJ's have a tire pressure warning system, or is it CDN only?

To my understanding the problem was with regards to damage of the bead on installation at the factory. I personally would take the wrecked unit and have someone remove the tires and inspect the bead for damage. Call Toyota @ 1-888-TOYOTA-8 and let them know if that is the issue and I am sure they will do something for you.

Good to hear nobody was injured (at least not seriously)

Let everyone know how you make out.
