Anybody see or drive the TRD FJ Cruiser yet? Impressions?
I hear it is something like a $7,200 option...

Pretty sharp, in my opinion. Black diamond on black top with charcoal wheels and TRD exhaust plus a bunch of other things. Sticker price on them is about $33,000. Not much more expensive than other 4x4 FJ's.

I've seen them for more $$$ than that is SoCal

Yeah, if you can get them for that, I think you should do it. The Black on black looks sweet. When I was shopping for my FJ, one of the dealers tried to tell me that they will paint the roof if I just bought a regular FJ for an extra $7k. I almost laughed in his face. Needless to say, I didn't buy the car from those shady guys! But it was a cool idea if you could get it done for cheeper and still have it be good quality.
I went with the titanium/silver color and don't mind the white top. It serves the function of keeping the ride a bit cooler in the Cali sun!!!
I saw and drove one for the first time last night... And, I drove it home.
(:
It is very nice.
I went to the dealer at the end of October and told him that I wanted to be on the waiting list for the TRD FJ.
He was like, "uh, there is no TRD FJ."
I was like, "There will be, I just saw a blurb in a SEMA ad."
He was like, "I think I would have heard of that."
I pulled out a check and made it out for $500 to the dealership and said, "If you are right, I will be back in a month to get this uncashed. If I'm right, please put my name on the top of the waiting list."
He called me like two weeks later and said, "You were right! It is coming in December and you are the first person on the waiting list."
It came in last night and I brought it home with 2 miles on it.
The rims are pretty sweet. I like how they are dark grey, does anyone know where to pick some of these up? I can only find the TRD rims in silver. Not too expensive either...I think they are 16's though. Standard on the FJ is 17's right?

They are 16's on the TRD. Now that the TRD is out, I am sure the dealer has replacement parts available for $$$.
I bought one last Sunday!!!! I love it, and the wife does too. Infact she was the one that talked me into the TRD version. Its deffo a gead turner, and a LOT of people ask about it whenever I park it.
Similar experiences to several posts. I have been working with several dealers on buying an FJ. Wife talked me into the TRD. I pick mine up in two weeks. Was not really keen on the white top, two dealers offered to paint it. Did not really like that option either, but it is out there.
I tested the TRD package about a week ago and it is sweet. I like the look, and when you add up the options as individual costs, the price is not too bad. I will re-post when I get the vehicle, but right now, the price seems great.
