I think he is referring to the 5.7, I've also heard they are working on a supercharger. They said that they've already seen the TRD one and URDs is already putting down more horsepower. Can't wait to see em

The Taco model from URD appears to be Centrifugal, which would produce a significantly narrower powerband than the Positive Displacement blowers of TRD.
For example, if it were say 6psi, max boost would not be reached till redline, where as with the twin screw OR teflon coated rotors(which ever TRD uses, both being equal) 6psi would be attained at any RPM just off idle.

The URD would be progressive somewhat like a low lag turbo.
The TRD would be Explosive like a BIG BLOCK.

My money would go to the TRD, but to each his own.

Thumbs up Re: TRD Supercharger

guys as of this morning the 5.7L Supercharge is up on the TRDUSA website. I hear the 4.0L for the Tacoma and FJ are released and orders are being taken. They are supposed to hit the warehouses in 2 weeks. I can only assume the 5.7L should be shortly behind it, especially if it is up on the website.

Talked to Shannon (Tacozilla) @ Champion Toy last week when ordering my TRD CAI, he indicated that at a recent mfg meeting in NM, TRD told them about the 5.7L SC kit being worked on and I think first of next year. Could be pricey though. Can't wait.

Talked to Tacozilla (Shannon) again today regarding other things, MSRP on the SC kit is 5200.00 + install kit of about 365.00. He promised that prices would be much lower than that as evidence from their discount on the 4.0 kit in the classified section. Maybe a month or two.

Hmm 'interesting Mr.Bond'
wonder what type (only had roots type on a Harley Superspew before), gains etc.
Thing I REALLY like about it is it is TRD and therefore NOT a warranty issue!!!!!!! Gotta love em

I'm already getting only 13.7mpg. So if a person was not the most conservative driver, (like myself), what's the general consensus on what this thing will do to our gas mileage? 10mpg?!?

Don't get me wrong, I'm already used to hauling *** past everything, but a gas station. And I'll be one of the first to order a SC. I'm just curious, cuz I heard on certain applications it can actually help gas mileage. Thanks.

Talked with Bob from TRD today, he didn't even know they put the part number up on the website yet. Anyways he told me to expect it towards the end of this year and to expect between a 30-35% hp increase over stock. Means you'll get to see a low 13 or high 12 second Tundra before too long, can't wait!

All I can say is (from memory) my 4x4 Bord Superspew got about 17mpg ish and then my Harley Supercharged Superspew got about 12mpg EEK

Still, the whine WAS VERY VERY addictive so my lead foot did'nt help. Keeping it in a straight line from breaking away on the rear end was a challenge too.

All I can say is 'Roll On The Launch' and lets REALLY party
