    Default Exhaust Setup Question

I just went to a local muffler shop and they put my Tundra up on a lift to see what they could do for the exhaust. They want to replace the 2 front pipes with 2.25" pipe so that they can mate up to a MagnaFlow muffler. After the muffler the plan to put a "Y" which will connect to the stock tailpipe or they can run duals for me if I want them.

The whole setup should cost around $400-450 with labor. None of the piping that they use is stainless, only the MagnaFlow muffler is. If I decide to run duals the other pipe will be just like the OE pipe. What do you think?

Should I just order a complete set online and do it myself? Where are some cheap places to pick up the Borla online?

    Thanks...

For that price you can get the actual Magnaflow cat-back system and you can bolt it on yourself. As for the Borla, trdsparks.com seems to have a good price on it.

That's what I was starting to think. Where is a good place to get the Magna? I checked that SparksToyota, but I need a side exit exhaust because I tow all the time, all they had was the rear exit that I seen.

For that kinda money why would they use a y behind the muffler to make it dual. Why not just go with the dual in dual out magnaflow.Hell I would check with another shop seems pretty steep to me.

I went cheep, Flowmaster 70, 2.5 in /3.0 out, about $150.00 for the unit deliverred. In the shop they rebent the drivers side pip presto perfect fite. Used all factory hangers already on pipes Out the back ashort extention and into the rest of the factory pipes, cost $75.00 Nice ss tip $35.00. Or about $260.00,but there is nothing bad with the factory pipes. Lastly it sounds great
I've done the expensive systems before, for my money this is better, MY OPINION.
