Power output on modern engines is controlled by computer electronics. Stock Toyota intakes and exhausts are not restrictive, so adding aftermarket Intakes and Exhausts increases noise, not real power.

Aftermarket Intakes and Exhausts also upsets the air/fuel ratio causing the engine to burn gasoline less cleanly which in turn fouls up the emission system sooner which in turn leads to performance declines.

I think you need to recheck your sources, stock intakes use a much smaller intake tube which does restrict air flow. Same with an exhaust systems. There are a lot of people out there that dyno before and after and see some pretty remarkable gains, and it won't hurt the motor becuase it increases the air/fuel ratio...that is the intent behind an air intake. By increasing the air/fuel ratio you get more power and it will actually be cleaner since more of the fuel is actully converted to power and isn't just released as exhaust gas.

If you say increase air/fuel as in adding more fuel you are wrong. That will only hurt performance and your gas mileage will suffer. There are gains to be had with aftermarket systems, but to get max gains we need to have access to the ECU to lean it out a tid bit. I put on a catback system on my truck and i did lost about 1 MPG but Im hoping once a programmer is available I will get that 1mpg back and then some.

Based on my personal experience, I would be very cautious ordering accessories from RealTruck.com

Judging by some of the recent threads it looks like this forum is morphing into one big infomercial/ad board. Doesn't this kind of stuff belong somewhere else?

Most people in this forum understand a bad deal when they see one. I just checked a a very popular auto anything site on the same Volant Cold Air Intake.. they were asking $100 dollars less and didn't even charge for shipping..

yea, I'm going to to pay $123.00 more for the same item.. please don't insult our intelligence with this type of info add.

AHHH! The exhaust is $1040 !!!! Wowzers. At that price I hope it cooks breakfast, dries your hair, and puts of pheromones that attract the opposite sex.

Guys... Let's keep it civil please. RealTruck is just trying to market his product, not debate about what they do.

Dude. Your site does not have scoops for our truck. Please go buy an ad somewhere. This forum should be for talk, help, and news. NOT for you advertising your wares. I understand that you're a TS vendor, but that is lame. TS needs to keep these guys off, or provide more to members.

I was being civil to realtruck, I was just commenting on the Volant exhaust system's price, which is probably more expensive on other sites. I just don't understand why anyone would pay so much for an exhaust when others are ~$300 cheaper? That is all. Just wondering.

Actually, the air intake doesn't increase the fuel it adds air which makes for combustion resulting in power increases withoout hurting your economy.

I think if you do not help support the forum by donating or w/e then you do not need to complain because you are not helping the situation.

Server bills/Software licensing can get very expensive.

I think you guys are smart enough to figure out the rest.
This is not a price war forum. Let him market his product at his price. If you dont like it buy somewhere else.

I am not bothered by an honest assess.ment.. furthermore I put this post in to let other members aware that I had added these exhaust systems on to my site. AA does do free shipping but they don't even carry the Volant exhaust system for Toyotas so if you compare the models they carry for my price is actually very close
