Default TRD Exhaust Installer (or do it yourself)

I'm looking for anyone who can give advice on a good place to purchase and have installed the TRD Cat Exhaust system and Cold Air Intake in the Central Valley (Tracy, Stockton, Livermore, Modesto). Either that or would you recomend doing it yourself? If so where to purchase? I'm mechanically inclined and it does say that it's bolt on. I definitely can't weld and don't have the tools to cut metal if needed. (I normally work with wood.).

Also opinions .. the TRD exhaust is a no brainer for me from my standpoint. What do others think about that and the Cold Air Intake combination? Worth the cost or just stick with the exhaust? (Where do I find the dual by the way. I've only seen online the TRD single pipe but I've seen posters here saying they have the TRD dual exhaust.

Thanks in advance.

As far as the installs....If you can't do the muffler yourself, certainly you must know ONE honest mechanic out there don't ya!! My Toy dealer did mine...I got one hellava deal. Check some numbers....you can get it done fairly cheap. The CIA is a piece of cake...you can do that yourself. I think it took me an hourish.

Do a search on here for "Exhausts" and "CAI's", etc ...several threads have been started on both subjects...You will find all the opinions and various set-ups people have to help you make your decision.

My take ....Get the Cold air in, then the Hot air out...as fast, and efficient as possible. I'm very pleased w/ what I have done so far.

Oh ya...you work w/ wood 'eh? Can you make me some big bin to put all the crap my wife buys in??..Heh!!

I installed the TRD exhaust with the help of my brother. Very simple and straight forward. One thing I would suggest is if you are not able to lift/jack the truck at all, remove the spare tire and you will have alot more room to work with. I also installed an AFE CAI myself. Also very simple once you figure out the instructions. I am very happy with the performance gains I have achieved so far with this set up.

If the Taco system is anything like the Tundra's it is very easy to bolt up yourself, plus excellent fit and finish. The only negative is price.

TRD exhaust is an easy install. I parked the back end of the truck up high on an upslope for more clearance. Jacking or ramps could be used. Disconnect batery. Its a one-piece, you loosen two bolts, dishsoap the rubber gommets and the slip out the old exhaust. Reverse to put on new one, (keep the tip cover on till your done). Re-connect battery.

I thought about the intake, but I wasn't sold on power or mileage gains on these modern Toyota engines. Of course there are plenty of guys who like them, so your call.

If your looking for a little more sound from under your hood, just removing the engine cover gives you a little more noise.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to do the "do it yourself" route for the exhaust. After reading some of the other threads on the CAI and the extra noise not sure I want to go that route. Looking more for a bit more power to pull my trailer vs noise. I live in a quiet neighborhood and I'm not one to "disturb the peace"

The CAI usually only makes more noise on heavy throttle application, and the TRD exhaust is only a touch louder than stock.
