Forced Induction SystemsDetailed discussions regarding cold-air intake systens, superchargers, turbo chargers, and other induction systems for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Need Intake", within the Forced Induction Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
It feels like I lost a good amount of power when I sold the zoomers. I need something to get that back. What intake will give best performance NO BS? I dont really care how loud it is cause when you step on the gas who cares anyways. As long as its quiet driving around under normal throttle positions. And No more than 300$ Shoot even thats way to mcuh for a plastic tube. hahha

I bought the Airaid intake and have been happy with it. It was about $300 and I got a free TBS with it from 4WheelParts. It took about an hour to install between beers. I have noticed a little more power (25hp?) from it.

I installed the K&N 77 series on my truck yesterday and it's is very loud. You barely get on it and it's loud. It's almost too loud for my likings and my wife hates it. Honestly couldn't tell you if it's any faster since the truck before this beast was a 94" T100. So anything, especially this truck, is a rocket compared to that. I am gonna search for a way to calm the tone a little.

installed volant about 2 weeks ago, yes it is kinda loud but there is a noticable differance at low end of powerband and i seam to be getting about 2 mpg better while towing but have not seen more than 1/2 mpg during normal racing ie(driving like it wants to be driven)
I have a volant, but I hardly notice any difference in performance.
I noticed improvement when I added a catback though.
IMO, they are not really worth it, but if you enjoy modifying your vehicle then go for it. You would probably benefit more if used in conjunction with other mods, but I guess you didn't like the added noise of exhaust. You would prob like the Volant exhaust because it is very quiet under 2500 RPMs.

I will have another exhaust in the future. Just looking to gain some of the pwer back that I lost.

Its funny, cause with every company, there will be some good, and some bad. I had an Airaid setup on my 05 Ram that was an absolute POS, and I took it off after about a week.
In the end, most all of them will offer similar gains, with similar fit/finish. Decide which you think looks the best and buy it.
