This is a discussion thread titled "Doug Thorley Tundra 5.7 group buy", within the Forced Induction Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Nick thanks for your reply. I never was told about Sean and no one contacted me afterwards. I sent you an e-mail through dthinfo@dougthorleyheaders.com, hopefully you will receive it.
So, I have had my DT headers sitting in the garage for about a month and have not had time to install them yet (work, travel, holidays, blaaaaahhhh) I can't wait and have an install scheduled. I am friends with an Evo shop owner and they have a Mustang dyno (fyi - Mustang dynos read VERY low). I'm gonna try to get on there before the install for a base and then after to see some independent results. I'll report back in about 1-2 weeks.
Additionally, I'm a bit dissapointed about a group buy as there was no mention of a group buy when I bought my headers. It seems like the day I got my headers from UPS was the day I saw the thread for the GB. Oh well...
BTW, I am running the TRD cai and TRD duals so I'm really psyched about some numbers!
OK guys I have a couple different shops that I have talked to that have agreed to install them with a Doug Thorley discount.

If you are in the Mountain View, Ca (SF/SJ) area I found a DT dealer that will do DT installs for a fair price. They will be doing mine next week. Call and talk to Tony at 650-938-2378 for a price. The shop is California's Best Auto.
I have not been paid or associated with them, but have seen quality work out of their shop. Just for fun, here is the owner's La Carrera Pan Americana Race in car video.

I did a baseline dyno before installing the DT headers. I have an Airaid intake and Zoomers exhaust. Those have been on for about 2k miles. We all know that each dyno and operator can read differently. I will go back to the same dyno and operator for the "after" dyno.
The dyno is a Dynojet and we dyno'ed in third (3rd) gear using the sequential shifter and had Tow/Haul on. The temp was 61 degrees and humidity was 80%.
The first run was the best for max peak power. HP was 309 and Torque was 311.
Unfortunately there was a automatic tranny shift at about 3.2k rpm.
The second run was us trying to avoid a down shift when we got on the throttle hard and getting a better reading below 5k rpm.
Here is the DT dyno from their site:
I will post an after dyno once I install the headers and give it time to learn.

Cool Tony! I'll be interested to see your dyno results. Unfortunately I couldn't spring for the dyno time before I put mine on. So far I've been really happy with the results
Okay boys and girls, this is not an install for the novice. I chickened out and had a shop that I know do the install and am I ever glad. They charged me 3 hours labor but it took 5 hours plus, using a lift and power tools and at the end two mechanics. It was the first Tundra they have done.
I stopped by a couple of time as I was out and about at work and it looked like a PITA to get big hands in there to tighten various nuts. They had the stock parts off in an hour.
Seat of the pants says this thing hauls. Getting on it from a stop or from 55 mph is an eye opener. I like it. Oh what a rush. I will give it a couple hundred miles then get an "after" dyno.
Surprisingly it is no louder....then again I have an Airraid and Zoomers.

Tony,
You are going to have the same mods as me, dt headers, airaid, zoomers...any CEL lights?
I've reset mine twice and after 25-30 miles it's back on...
Hey Cycleman, try double-checking your O2 sensors. Did you install it yourself or have a shop do it? There's 4 sensors (2 in each mid-pipe), if one is unplugged I could see it throwing a code.

Put 40 miles on since the install. No CELs so far.

Had a performance shop do the install on exhaust and headers. I did the CAI myself a week before the headers/exhaust. The CEL came on 10 miles after the CAI install, so I know it's the CAI.
