Default Exhaust / Intake / MPG Change / Questions

Hello all,
I've been doing a lot of researching on this site concerning aftermarket exhaust and intake systems. Most of the posts are people complaining about their mileage going down after installing these mods. But, guys are talking about their mileage coming back after the computer "learns" the new breathing system it has. I will be spending a lot of road miles in my truck so I don't want the exhaust to have a "drone" to it, but still want it to have a nice, aggressive tone.

So, what I'm looking for is real world results you guys have had with exhaust and/or intake mods. Also, what brands or kits meet the above criteria involving noise? I don't want to start a debate about catback vs. just adding a muffler and locally bent pipes, just results.

Thanks in advance!!!!

FYI I have true dual flowmaster super 44's, custom installed.

Now the results, a little drone over about 75, but not too bad. I definately have the agressive tone... thats why my gas mileage went down, I always want to hear them! I really dont think there was much if any change in actual gas mileage though, and I experienced no loss in power, if anything a gain. As for intakes I dont have one, so no experience there.

CAI and exhaust here. 17-18mpg stock, 16-17mpg w/ mods. I think Id get the same or better mileage, but I just cant seem to keep my foot out of it.

CAI and exhaust also about 17 mpg stock 14w/mods. I have not reset the computer yet only drone noise when its really cold outside then you really hear CAI and EXhaust when you get on it.
