OK OK sounds, sealing, calendar and all this is good info but what are the benifits for a $300 dollar investment. How about HP and the most important gas milage.

Wildbill, the hood does seal the top part of it, it's just around the edges that it's open to the engine bay. Thats what I'm trying to seal up.

Im literally shocked that of all people, you would choose the AirAid intake. You know itll be one of the loudest intakes available since its an open element design right? I just find it ironic that you went nuts trying to find an exhaust with no drone, and now have selected one of the loudest cais available. Go figure I guess.

i don't care if things are loud when I step on the gas. intake and exhaust are supposed to be loud then...But when I'm just crusin enjoying the day and sunshine I don't wanna hear anything droning in my ear. Nothing worse than that. Thats why I still have stock exhaust.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but for those of us with pretty much zero mechanical aptitude how hard would an install be on one of these? Would install be pretty much the same regardless of Airaid or K&N, etc...?

Don"t do it. It is a waist of $300 just for the extra noise.

Uneducated buyer. Period.

The AIRAID kit makes 10HP and about 12Ft. lns of torque over the stock air box.

The Extra noise is due to it being less restrictive than the factory air box.

It's crazy in this day and age, people will still make comments about things they know nothing about.

The Airaid is a great choice.

Most of the installs require removing the stock intake box and putting in some kind of brace to hold the new filter element. If you have a little wrenching ability, you should be fine. Just make sure you follow the instructions, the ones with the airaid were pretty clear.
