The TRD kit included a template to help you cut the cover, AND spacers for the hood cover connections. I picked the later!

My dealer, they pulled from outside regional distribution in CA, since Portland's were backordered.

from earnhardttoyotaparts, but it was 4 month ago!
May be now it is included in a kit. However Sparks may through it in just by being nice to this forum Or may be that is why they charge $30 more

Stanton,
Did the instructions give you the option of the spacers vs. the cutout?

That should tell us if TRD changed it.

Hi Mxsjw,

I just received the following Email from Sparks regarding the TRD CAI spacer question I Emailed to them.

We are checking on this now. We noticed that they are in a new box. And it does now include the spacer kit. We were never notified that it was an updated kit, we are going to change the installs on the site and thank you for informing us.

Well there it is...thanks.
Oh well, I suppose I could pound my fists on my dealers desk, demand the updated kit and a new cover, hold my breath and die.
But, I suppose I will just live with my cut version.

Just finished and posted the pictures above. The write up will come soon.

Sounds great! A bit deeper at normal use and very "throaty" when you put it down. With the CAI the whole truck responds faster IMHO.

Now it makes a lot of sense. Mine came with the TRD Dual exhaust and CAI when i bought the truck and i never noticed any modification on my engine cover, it has spacers. I thought you guys are just making things up, oh well sorry to all that cut their engine covers but still they look good.
