Alright guys the installation document is complete! I hope that if you choose The TRD Kits or any other Tundra fitted CAI's and Exhausts that this is a useful tool for you! The install of both was quite easy and if you have a good spring saturday you can get the whole thing done, by your self, in 3 hours!

thanks for the write up. Im totally not mechanically inclined and I did it by myself. If I can do it, ANYONE can do it! except I forgot to remove the HC filter. And I could of sworn I read somehwere that a mod said anytime a mod like this is done the battery shold be disconnected for about 10 or so minutes to reset the ECM. That should be included in this write up if thats true.
Edit: took it back apart and removed the HC filter and disconnected the battery for a while and it does seem faster and a little louder. Cant wait to see how my mileage changes if any...

Nice write up. I've just installed my new TRD CAI...went smoothly except I must have mis-read the damn torque setting when re-installing the 10mm bolts that hold down the filter housing...I snapped the head right off 1 of the bolts...so I have to get a drill and a bolt extractor to remove it and put a new bolt in. I did notice the OEM bolt seems to be a cheap aluminum bolt...not like you need anything beefy to hold the housing down, it isn't going anywhere...but didn't expect aluminum. I guess after seeing all that plastic on the engine...the aluminum isn't that bad. Other than that..I went ahead and finished the install...the unit is stable and isn't moving at all...so I'm not worried about the broken bolt at the moment...but I will fix it tomorrow. As for the exhaust...just been a little sick and a bit cold outside to deal with it...but I may brave this tomorrow. I'll print out your DIY instructions to suppliment the ones that came with the kit. I'm doing this completely alone...but don't foresee any issues. I went ahead and bought some ramps to help me out with work room, although I read you don't really need it. Once again...nice write up.

*** I was curious...unclamping the airfilter cover (TRD) it seems that the whole thing is pretty stiff...how do you go about manipulating the cover so you can preform maintenance on your filter? Should we be unbolting and removing the air intake pipe as well?

So questions.. Have you noticed any loss in low end torque/power with the TRD CAI??? I am thinking about doing it but have read so many things about losing low end torque with some of the CAI's. Also any MPG change?
Thank you
