Forced Induction SystemsDetailed discussions regarding cold-air intake systens, superchargers, turbo chargers, and other induction systems for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Who has volant cai ?", within the Forced Induction Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
Just wondering who out there has a volant cai and love it ? Cant decide on Volant or Trd intake. I got a magnflow ss dual exhaust coming in next Tue. and debating which inake to match it with.
I had a Volant for a long time and it was a great intake. It sounded awesome and I really felt an improvement in air flow vs stock. I currently switched to Trueflow just because the foam filter cleans air better then the cotton ones. But, I was never dissapointed with the volant and it looks great

An important note here: The Volant for the 5.7L V8 uses the Powercore filter. Its not a cotton gauze but a specially designed paper honeycomb type filter.
I had the Airaid first then switched to the Volant. The airaid was a good intake with good fitement, it was just too loud for me. The Volant sound is more subdued under load at high rpms, compared to the Airaid. I also felt like the Volant gave me more low end as well...

i have the volant power core on my tundra. it is ok. i dont feel the low end power as much as i would like. however, it seems to kick in at about 3500 rpms, then it really picks up as rpm's climb to rev limiter. supposed to pick up 21 hp at peak. decent unit overall, needs more low end though IMO.

I have the magnaflow 2 in 2 out passenger side exit p/n 16782 and the Volant CAI. I had an increase of almost 2mpg after they broke in and the truck learned everything. I am seeing more now since they are changing to summer gas mix. I love the CAI and the exhaust as a whole. They sound excellent together and imo work very well together. They compliment themselves extremely well. I would pull the trigger and go for it my friend. You WON'T be disappointed.....

I have Volant CAI and Zoomers exhaust. I like both, and I seem to have gained back the MPG that I lost from lifting the truck and oversizing the tires. Sound is very subdued until you lay into it, then it sounds cool. Not quite as quiet as stock at cruising, but not bad. I chose the Volant mainly because of the dry filter.
