Forced Induction SystemsDetailed discussions regarding cold-air intake systens, superchargers, turbo chargers, and other induction systems for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "K&N intake and throttle body spacer", within the Forced Induction Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have a 2001 tundra 4x4 and i have installed a K&N intake and i was wondering if you could add a throttle body spacer with that too? I am asking because i have heard that you can't but i dont see why not you can't. so does anyone know if you can have both throttle body spacer and the intake?
sometimes the after market cold air intake's, don't leave you enough room for the spacer.
you would have to ask someone that has the same exact set up.
or buy it, and see for yourself.
they are costly, so i suggest you ask 1st.
it might same you some money.
i know mine doesn't have the room.2005 4.7 VVTI V8

Throttle body spacer is a waste of money I wouldn't buy it. Now a manifold spacer is a different question.. I would be curious to see if that would work..
TB spacer has been proven to do nothing. by dyno

I have a 2006 DC 4.7 with both the K&N cold air intake and the Poweraid throttle body spacer installed. There is the room for it however its tight.
There is a little less than a 1cm of clearance from the fan to the intake elbow, so be careful.
i have a k&n intake and a throttle body spacer. it works fine.

Currently working on the system mentioned above.
I trimmed my K&N intake tube for it to fit, works fine. I don't think the throttle body spacer does anything HP or mileage-wise, but it sure sounds cool when you close the throttle slowly! (sounds almost like a turbo spool) Only paid like $60 bucks for it, so I could care less haha

1cm of clearance? what are you some kid? what do you know?
Tight is good.
TundraSport, you did the same thing, you're given' the other guy a hard time about. Consumer Reports did a review of Trottle body spacers years ago and they do about nothing.....Moving the throtle body away from the cold air tube adds nothing. As the guy also said if it was a manifold spacer THAT would be different, as it lifted the carb/injection throttlebody off of the manifold which gave it a cooler charge and more power at higher rpms.....
But hey it's your money and your opinion so have at it, I for one would spend my dollars on things that work and in an rpm range that makes sense....just my .02, CSM-H

I love the uneducated forum members who bash products they clearly know nothing about.
You should probably stick to your "Stock family ride" and stay away from the performance part's as you seem to know little to nothing.
