Default 4.7 Cold Air Intake????

What are some of the COI that are available for the 4.7? The Volant for the 5.7 has had great reviews. Does Volant make the same look for the 4.7. Help Me.........

I would move your post to the 1st generation Tundra forum. Us 4.7ers dont get alot of response on this forum. Thats OK, enjoy your non diesel sounding, non rumble strip, smooth, well refined 4.7.....

I have a K&N that I put on my 07 DC 4x4 and like it. I am not sure if it made a difference or not as I dont have any way to test it but it sure makes it sound good
I got mine from Autoanything.com about a month or so ago, for the life of me I cant remember what I paid for it, I do know it was under $300 including shipping.

I looked on volantsite I only seen an intake for the 05-06 and older tundra 4.7 you might want to try another intake or see if the volant for an 2006 tundra will fit on yours.

K&N is garbage...sorry to say for you guys who already bought them...Volant is decent, but over priced for what they are...AirAid is the best...They have the same amount of layers as everyone else with a synthetic layer on the outside...they filter and flow better than anyone, and they have the best warranty. You can't beat them!

I did some searching around, because I am looking for an intake for my 4.7 too, and at PerformanceProducts.com, I found these:

AIRAID- Cool Air Dam - With Modular Intake Tube
2005-2007 TOYOTA TUNDRA V8 4.7L FI

Part Number: 108259
Price: $289.95
**Look at the years, thats a good sign**

K&N
63 Series
2007-2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA V8 4.7L FI

Part Number: 63-9032
Price: $332.99

Out of those 2, I would go with AIRAID. IMO

Most cost effective solution may be the TrueFlow replacement filter. You can get their complete CAI, but the performance is no different. Unlike K&N, TrueFlow does not reduce low-end or mpg.

Does anyone know if Trueflow makes a filter that I could use to replace in the intake filter on my K&N? Basically, it would just have to fit the intake tube.

I had a Volant ony 03' sounded cool, but took away alot of low end which is not a good thing when pulling a 6000lb boat. Don't know the price since it came on the truck when i bought it, i believe it around ~$350. I would keep it stock its already a cold air design. Just my 0.02. I sure can fell the difference between my 00' and my 03' when towing.
