hey guys. I gotta question about the TRD Superchargers. I know that they are coming out with the 5.7 V8 supercharger...but any word on a TRD Supercharger for the 4.7 V8's? Specifically for '08's?
I did do kind of a search.. but it mostly came up with the supercharger for the 5.7 or older model Tundras
Appreciate the info guys. I'd rather go with TRD than anything else, just for the fact that I just got my tundra on good friday, and I'd rather not void my warranty.
just out of curiosity, why would you get a 4.7L and supercharge it when you could have gotten a 5.7L for less than what a supercharger will cost?

Well.. a few reasons why I didnt get the 5.7. Biggest one was the price I got on the 4.7 DC SR5. The 5.7 was 3k-5k more expensive than the 4.7 similarly equipped here in Florida....and I also got the tundra step bars, and bedliner added on for free. Add on the $3500 rebate, plus the 7k they gave me for my '06 Taco trade in **which I took to have a warranty paint issue looked at **, an APR of 4.2% for 4 1/2 years, those are the biggest reasons why I got the 4.7, and not the 5.7. I got a lower APR than what I had with the Taco, and only paying $11.22 more a month.
that's a darn good reason, then when i got mine, it was the first slate metallic DC in central FL. it was actually shipped in for some nascar driver to drive while he was in town, so it had 600 miles on it when i bought it. needless to say i got a significant discount off MSRP the other ones i was looking at, the difference in cost on the 4.7 to 5.7 was only about $2k, which is why i asked why the 4.7 for you. i guess they may have restructured the pricing a little?

Dunno if they adjusted the prices between the 2, but I checked out all the different prices at Courtesy, David Maus, Toyota of Orlando, and found the best price to fit my budget at Deland Toyota..which is where I originally bought my Taco for the same reason. They have the exact same model as my '08 Tundra with the same options at another dealership here in Orlando, for 2.3k more with the 4.7. Priced with the 5.7, it was almost 3k more than the 5.7 I checked at Deland. When I bought my Taco back in '06, I got it there for 3k less than any dealership here in Orlando.
i found the same issues with david maus and toyo of orlando. deland toyo didn't have what i wanted at the time, so i didn't price it there. it definitely pays to shop around, though.

I hear ya man. I don't wanna talk smack about a dealership...but before I got my Taco, my brother got his V6 camry from a different dealership here in Orlando. The finance manager was really really rude to us ( us being my brother, his wife and me ) My brothers wife asked a question,as did I,
and he replied .. and I quote...
"Well, if you had ever gotten a loan before.. you'd know what this means"
in a very rude, sarcastic tone of voice. And then didnt even respond to the question. I asked him a question about something else, he then rolled his eyes and looked at me like I was stupid and ignored me.
Now I was next in line to do the financing for a truck I was going to get at the same dealership..I got up and walked out. The FM came up to me when my brother was done and told me to come into his office and sign my paperwork. I told him "No ... I don't think i'm going to waste my time here, nor my money." We started to kind of argue, him being sarcastically nice, and me being blunt and honest about his business acumen. The sales manager came up, asked what the problem was, and I told him point blank, "You finance manager just lost you a 30K sale" and left before I really got angry.
So needless to say, I'll drive an hour out of my way to Deland, get a better deal, and deal with better sales reps. Heck, I'd drive 4 hours outta my way..
that's pretty much the experience i had in orlando as well. i thought i might get a better deal since i figured they moved more vehicles down that way. i was wrong glad to hear you had a good experience in deland, that's where i'm from

I like the guys over at Deland, Mike Fariese **the mech/tech manager** is one heck of a cool guy. The sales rep I dealed with was great as well, including the finance, and sales managers. They got me exactly where i wanted to be in payments, for how many months, and they never once talked down to me. So far thats 2 trucks in 2 years I've gotten from them, and both times they were extremely professional, courteous, and willing to work with me on my terms. As far as I'm concerned, if i stick with toyotas for trucks / cars, I'll most likely always go to them.
