Question Re: TUNDRA TRD SUPERCHARGER: The Real Deal!!

Mark,

So if one decides to install this himself, does he have to pay the dealer to have the flash done or is this a part of the cost of the supercharger?

Steve

Steve

you will have to TOW the truck to the dealer and pay them to reflash it. it is not included in the price of the charger.

Sorry if this bursts any bubbles but 504hp is not going to get a nearly 6000lb double cab into the 12's. There are alot of 1/4 mi calculators online but I've found that the one I devised myself almost always comes closest.

My math comes out at a 13.456 ET

This of course is considering you can get those 504 ponies to the ground. Tundras are having launch problems with 381hp 401tq as it is; Imagine 123 more hp and 149 more tq. Slicks will be a must if you even want to achieve the low to mid 13's potential.

I can however see the RCSB rwd doing high 12's. The numbers are definitely right for it to happen.

Did i miss the actuall hp & tq numbers?

You're telling me it'll put down 504 hp & 550 lb ft? Not bad!

Where can i find the hp/tq curve for this SC?

Sorry, never seen the tq numbers anywhere.

The guy who test drove the 5.7 SUV with TRD present got the numbers from TRD themselves.

And im even sorrier to burst yours but I guarantee you the rcsb does low to mid 12's with a sticky set of tires (2wd) and the double cab should pull off high 12's espescially with a set of longtubes, intake, and catback.. Just wait and see and I won't even say i told ya so. That instant trq that the supercharger will provide is going to make a huge difference and it will also smooth out the power and trq curves making it even more efficient.

Oh and slicks wont be a must.. mickey thompson or BFG drag radials will suffice just fine, and if its a 4wd truck it'll be no question of traction. All I've ever owned is fast cars (Cobras, ls1's, etc) and the MT Drag radials provided me with many high 10 second timeslips.

Whats a good normal average for a Stock (no mods)RCSB 2wd 1/4 mile??

And at normal track conditions, like 70 deg f, and maybe 1500 ft altitude. The only times I have seen posted were in late winter.

Take this time, and then the S/C should shave another full seconed off.

Last August in 90 degree weather at 350ft I ran a 14.181 bone stock if that helps you any.
