Default Installed Supercharger

I installed a Toyota TRD supercharger on my '03 Tundra V8 over the weekend.
My truck is an '03 with 45,000 miles on it. It's been babied (I'm retired).
So I figure it's in good shape. I found the S/C on ebay for an '03. We settled on a price and it was shipped to my home. It had originally been purchased for a guy's dad but his father had a stroke. The unit sat in a closet for 5 years.
My son helped me. The instructions are clear and detailed. A trick is remembering what wire .. hose goes where. It took about 14 hours (with breaks for big macs liquid refreshment and sleep).
The results are awesome! The truck has a deeper tone to the intake and exhaust. And the power ... it'll push you right back in your seat. I'm taking it easy for a while. The computer has re-learn my new driving style. I've switched to premium gas. We got a chuckle ... high octane gas is at a record-breaking $4.87 in this area. Well I wouldn't have done it if I couldn't afford the gas! When it gets a few more miles on it I'll see what she'll do.
A Happy Tundra Owner

Thumbs up Re: Installed Supercharger

Congrats on the find and install! I'm looking forward to hearing the updates.

Hopefully this gas crunch will scare a few more S/C owners into dumping theirs for a good price.

When I put the trd s/c on my tacoma...my fuel mileage did not suffer (unless I was driving it hard). I went on a trip following by buddies in 2 other tacomas...I used less fuel (with my s/c 3.4) than the either the 2.7 truck or the 3.4 truck. My buddy with the 2.7 was a standard cab on 33s, I was an xtd cab on 32s and the 3.4 was a stock xtd cab on 31s. These were all 4x4 trucks.

You will pay more for premium gas, but you will not likely use more of it.
