you know what I think would be cool....If someone could get a stock tundra, and a supercharged tundra...then video the differcence in acceleration side by side drag strip style ( safely not on a public roadway) that would truly show the difference from stock to sc just my thoughts
Exactly! Possible race against another vehicle, CMON.

I think the drag strip style race and dyno sheets (are they available?) would be the only way to convince me as well. I could tell the truck was faster than mine but for $5,000+, those videos are piss poor.
Don't worry I'll make every kinda possible video I can as soon as I get the charger on k! We're looking about the end of July if everything stays on track right now.
Good news is after my truck is done the 4 link rear suspension kit will be available for anyone that wants it! Its actually almost a completely bolt on kit. Only the rear panhard par needs a bracket welded onto the rear axle. But I am actually just having mine completely welded on for more structural rigidity.
I am also having custom coilovers all the way around too which are made by QA1 Carerra.
You can go to qa1.net to check them out. They are fully adjustable with over 500 configurations of valving right at your finger tips!
I want to see some vids too! But count on some good stuff from me next month!

It does not matter whether a truck has 300 or 3000 horsepower, it will require the same braking force from any given speed assuming the weight of the truck is the same. Having a SC does not make a difference unless you are trying to stop with your foot still on the gas pedal.
Arizona has a speed limit of I believe 80 or was it 85. I drove through there and boy it was a nice thing to open up the Hertz Camry rental I had breezing down that highway to Phoenix from Blythe, CA.
Sanosuke!
Speed limit is up to 75, but it's common for some to drive faster (like me!)
well my last s/c vehicle (00 4runner) blew to **** so no thanks, ill preserve my turck and get good gas mileage

some of you say that its the same weight, same truck, BUT DRAMATICALLY MORE HP, and it takes the same power to stop this beast when it comes to brakes?
are you people on the same planet?
i dont think any of yous had a truck or car that had serious hp under their foot.
i mean most of all the performance rides that manufacturers put out there put brembos for a reason.
you want to stop a 500 hp 5000+ truck with stock brakes? i dont want to be in the same road as you guys. thats for sure.
let me give you a scenario for you:
your at a redlight, you got bout a 1/8 of a mile to the next light. a ricer is next to you. you guys launch at full blast. remember the ricer is stick (he can slow down real quick just by shifting), your not. your doing about 80-90 and you need to stop at the red light coming real quick at you. you think your going to stop at the line? L O L
TRY IT, see what happens. =)
lemme tell you something, maybe I havent got a ride in the new sc'd tundra and dont see how actual the sluggish performance is such as I have seen in the vids. So then maybe its not fast as a typical roots style setup is. So then maybe it will stop to a certain degree.
but if you have a magnacharger on a GM product with a cam headers and exhaust and you launch and try to stop the beast, ITS NOT HAPPENING without 6 piston caliper brakes. EVEN MAGNACHARGER STATES UPGRADE YOUR BRAKES ON THEIR WEBSITE. LINGENFELTER ALSO ON THEIR STR8 SC INSTALL.
i sit here and watch those vids of the sc'd toyo. ill be ready soon to run with you on a different setup with proper brakes.
thanks and be safe.
Maybe I will sit on you and wait until you turn blue. Then you can learn that any WELL TRAINED driver will have a brain and leave room to stop.
Also theres nothing stopping us from just DOWNSHIFTING the transmission by shifting to S and downshift it from there.

well on the GM's you will have to upgrade the braking system, but the Tundras already got way more braking than is required for the truck to begin with. So no need to upgrade, but you do have a valid point non the less.....

Ehhh... in your opionion at least...
I'd say the stock braking system even for a RCSB 2wd aka the lightest model, is rather okay.
With my stock 18's and michellins and all stock brakes I faded quite a few times rather easily. When I took them off to put my BBK on they were all glazed all the way around.
What I don't get is why Toyota doesn't seem to want to have too much surface area on their disc's. Even the TRD BBK doesn't have much of a swept area compared to even smaller discs on some cars. Thats more of what actually determines a vehicles braking ability.
On the front the 14" rotors and 4 piston calipers seem good and true. But If you look at the tundras rear brakes... although seeming rather large in size... there is a very small portion of the disc for actual pad contact.
A lot of "hype" if you ask me. Big Brakes sell trucks right!
Just my 2cents...
