I just ordered the gibson stainless side swept exhaust for my 05', has anyone installed this setup yet? Anything important to know about installation? I'm taking off the flowmaster 40 series and I can't wait to hear and feel the difference. Chime in if you have the gibson setup if ya don't mind. . . Thanks and I'll get some pics once it is installed. . .

What didn't you like about the Flowmaster? I haven't decided what I want to put on my truck yet....

The Flowmaster 40 series (Non Delta Flow) has a very sharp sound on the 4.0, it is not a deep mellow tone which what most people are after. The FM is downright nasty on this vehicle. The interior resonance is way too much. It is way better to leave the system stock than go with the FM 40 series. I have heard that changing the 40 series muffler out to a 50 or even 60 series is the way to go, but I don't want to take any chances on sound quality anymore. I think the Gibson will be a perfect compromise.

I know when I called Flowmaster about a replacement muffler for my truck they recommended the 50 Series Deltaflow.....guess I'll hang tight and see how you like your Gibson.

The site is a lil' feminine but the customer service was
If you call there ask for Sean, he'll hook ya up. . .
My Gibson is just slightly noisy. With my S&S headers I don't have room for a resonator, so there is a minor 2000 rpm drone. Without the headers, I'd prefer the 2-1/2" Gibson muffler with stock size pipes.

yeah i had a 40 series on y 03 3.0 ranger and it sounded like a chainsaw! Then i replaced it with a delta flow and it wasd a perfect sound, a lil louder then stock with a nice deep sound Delta flow is the way to go with flow master. I think if i get one on my yota it will be a gibson too.
I've had my gibson for about two months now. I think it sounds pretty good. Install was simple. The old one came right off no problem and the new one when on without any trouble. I still have the whole set up in one piece in my shed.
