Default TRD Dual Exhaust for Tundra with VSC

I read about how the TRD Dual Exhaust system will rub against a brake line on Tundra models with VSC, which is very disappointing for me.

I have a 2005 DC Limited with VSC and I really wish I could install the TRD Dual Exhaust without interfering with my brake line. Would it be difficult to keep the brake line from rubbing or even touching the exhaust? How should I go about this? Should I forget about the whole idea?

Any help on this would be much appreciated. I think the TRD Dual Exhaust would really match the look of my truck well.

Default dont worry bout it dude, get the exhasut

I wouildnt worry about that problem, Toyota has really fixed that problem up very well with the later 2005 model DC Tundra like mine. I did have one problem though with my TRD dual exhaust... as me and a friend were taking off the badging, which i recommend to make the truck look cleaner, I was backing up and felt a big vibration in my Tundra and my friend said look, ur exhasut is touching the body of the truck. Took it to the dealer since its still under warranty and they said it was installed wrong from the factory, so they re-did the exhasut lay out and said everything was fine now. I wouls still totally get the TRD dual exhaust man, it makes my DC look so much better and sounds so much better, I even rev it up by Fords and Chevys to make them jealous!!! But the break line thing is fixed, you can alwasy take it to a dealer and have them make sure its ok sinec its still under warranty and etc..

Cool

Thanks for the advice guys! I'll ask the parts department for pricing when I take this beast in for its first oil change in a couple weeks.

There are two types of TRD dual exhaust. The old style which will not work with vsc and the new style will. There is actually a SSC on the TRD dual exhaust on Tundras with VSC. Hope this helps.

i have flow masters on my tundra, the exhaust will only drop into the brake line when you have a heavy load in the bed or trailer. which, us tundra owners all know, isnt very much.

My exhaust started to burn my brake line. what I did to fix it, is I put a 22ft flat bad trailer with a 6000lbs Ford bronco on it onto my tow ball to drop the exhuast onto the brake line, then i tied the brake line out of the way with zip ties.

Works great.

If you arnt towing anything with ur truck i wouldnt worry about the problem. however, i would bring it up to ur toyota dealer, all it takes is a small whole to blow that brake line apart. when that goes, so does ur brake fluid, which = no brakes, which....possibly cause a accident. becareful.
