Just got my Gibson catback system on and it soudns great. Judging by sound clips I heard it sounds like the TRD, and the price I couldnt beat. $220 shipped, put it on yesterday sounds great!
I happened to cruise over to www.truckperformance.com last week. Noticed they had a banner up that they were clearancing out some stuff to get their stock levels back down to where they needed to be. So I punched in my truck info and went over to exhaust systems. Low and behold they had the aluminized and SS Gibson catback systems on sale, but were limited to the qty on hand that showed for over stock. The aluminized was $220 and the SS was $280(I think). And $10 to ship either one. Normal prices are $275 for aluminized and $373 for SS. All the aluminized catbacks are gone but they are still selling a couple of the SS for $297. Here's direct link I think.

Daym! I wish someone had a sound clip. It looks like the TRD exhaust I just ordered. I know the TRD is a Bosal. I got the trd from my local dealer for 375$ no tax (stepdads autobody account)

Here's the Borla Stainless Steel Cat-back Exhaust installed on my 05 Tacoma Install was very easy and this system sounds amazing. It's louder then the TRD exhaust and i'm super happy with it. No cab drone, Nice melow cruising tone and when you get on the gas pedal it can turn heads.

went with a magnaflow stainless xl muffler on ours. magnaflow tip for looks, and sounds great. nice and quiet for the kids, and a real nice roar when the skinny pedal gets naughty.
I have the Borla on my 05 Tacoma V6. I purchased it on ebay from a toyota parts dealer in Florida. I paid $495.00 plus $15.00 shipping. It's stainless steel the muffler is stamped Borla But the Tip has no Borla emblem like the systems on borla's website. I love this system. I also removed the emissions carbon/Gauze filter from the intake and I also reset my Trucks ECU. I'm getting great results from doing this. Better pedal response,Better Gas Mileage and a HP gain not a huge gain but it's there for sure! I'm also still running the stock Denso air-filter.I also noticed my truck idles much smoother now. Anybody else running this set-up? Thanks for any info

Carbon Gauze Filter? Where is this and what does it do? I am guessing you reset the ecu to allow the upgrades to benifit? Did you get a check engin light when you swapped out the exhaust?
Thanks in advance.

No check engine light. The borla is a cat-back system. The carbon/gauze filter is inside your intake. If you take out the air filter you will see it. You might need it to pass ispection in the future.Removing it could give them a reason to void your warranty also. Just search secondary filter here in the search box you will get lots of info...
