Default Just got a exhaust tip installed

I an not sure if I am ready to deal with adding a magnaflow at this point but I just got tired of dealing with the old exhaust tip.

What do you guys think?

Looks just like mine except mine was cut off a little so I could aim it downward a little more. They do look great at that location and save the finish on the bumper at least in cold country.

It looks really good--

Stupid question--where do you get one? At any auto parts store or is it a Toyota accessory?

Thanks for the complements, I just went to a local muffler shop and they had a choice of several tips. The guy then welded it on. It cost me 50 bucks installed but it was worth it. The auto part stores have the screw on kind and I didn't like them as much.

Mine is a stainless steel Magnaflow that looks the same as his. I got mine from a vendor with a e-bay store. I think his store was in the Ohio area. He had dozens of Magnaflow choices.

Larry--thanks, I will check out the ebay sites. Are the pipes a standard size or are the tips made for specific vehicle models? Also, when they weld it on doesn't that discolor the tip?

If I recall the original Tundra V8 tailpipe increases in size to about 2 3/4" from 2 1/4" about six inches from the end. I had my 3" diameter 12" long angle cut rolled end Magnaflow tip shortened a few inches so the shop could weld a 3" X 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" reducer to adapt to the original tailpipe at it's last bend. Everything's welded so far back from the tips outlet nothing shows. By shortening the tip and with the reducer all you see from behind is the tip unless you are really low. Generally all you need to know is how long, the diameter you want and the style. The only time they get vehicle specific is when there's fitment/clearance issues and with the Tundra there's plenty of room. Magnaflow has mind boggling options and sizes so read and look carefully at the info and illustrations so you get the right item.

Tripleb I didnt know Toyota sold them. Your truck looks nice!

Thanks guys, after all the Xmas shopping I am going to get a muffler put on. This tip is a chrome tip, I liked the stainless but it looked a bit different than the chrome. I pretty much take my car a bath every week or so and can keep it clean. The guys said it might last a year or maybe three it depended how well I can take care of it. Oh well if I can get three out of it I will be happy. The truck is already pushing 5 1/2 years, not sure how long I will hold on to her.

I will probably be getting a new muffler installed and not a dual so I am just going to replace the muffler. I wish I could hear someone single exhast to get a good idea of what it sounds like with our truck. I went to magnaflows site and did not like the way the Tundra sounds. I did however like the way the mustang sounds. I would like to get that same deep sound out of mine if possible.

I know sound is a personal taste but I really like that stang sound!

Didn't really want to spend 500 bucks on a cat back. I have read too much on how there just not worth it. I am not willing to loose any power for sound, especially in the low end. Thats just me!

50 bucks was reasonably especially since I wanted to angle a bit different than the stock location. The guy had to cut the exhaust and bend a new pipe the way I wanted it and then weld it back.

I really like the way it looks now instead of the stock one.

You're the only one that needs to be satisfied as it's your money.
