having a good intake is always a + ive heard good things about them also it may void your warrenty
It only voids the warranty IF you can prove it caused a problem, and thats a hard case to prove.

I have a Volant CAI on my 06 DBL Cab and love it. It gives the truck a throaty sound when you step on it. As for performance, I'm not sure if I gained anything from it since it was installed when the truck had 200 miles on it. Also during this time I had all my other mods put on except for the muffler. One thing I can tell you is I did not lose any noticeable low end torque. I can pull my boat (2100 lbs) without a problem. After the muffler was installed I have the same throaty sound throughout the RPM range rather than the 3000 and above range. The quality of the Volant is nice and it I have not had any issues. I currently have 1900 miles on my truck. I have a picture of it in my gallery

You guys with the True Flow, how is the sound and performance? I've got the K&N set-up, and I am starting to get tired of all the noise that it makes. After looking at True Flow's website, I am pretty much sold on the foam filter vs the gauze. Thanks for help and sorry for stealing the thread.
I installed the Volant Cold Air intake in my 2005 DC around 20,000 miles. There is not much performance difference, Toyota already has a pretty good cold air intake installed off the shelf. This feeder pipe is the same diameter, and you are drawing air in the same hole in the wheel well, although the Volant air box does have another hole that intakes from behind the head lamp. My biggest concern was that the air box is held in place with just one bolt, I was certain this would shift around. Nearly 10,000 miles later and no problems. I did notice a much deeper growl on acceleration, and marginal increase in mid-range acceleration (or at least I thought I did, hard to how much was placebo effect). The install was easy even for someone like me, who prefers to pay others to do the work.
2005 Tundra Double Cab Mods:
Volant Cold Air intake
JBA Headers
Magna-Flow muffler
Custom cat-back dual exhaust (side exit behind rear wheels)
Weston Chrome nerf bars
Access lite-on roll up tonneau cover
Driver side windows tinted to match privacy glass
so which is best, k&n, trueflow or volant?
i want the one with the best power gains, sorry for jumping in.

Stock supposedly is a True Cold Air intake already, and the Toyota Stock Air filters are best for Filtering Out the Contaminents.
If I wanted something of what you listed it would be a Volant for the reason they use a box to cover the filter element and not allow HOT Air. into the engine
If you offroad, Stick with the stock Air Intake.
Its Pretty hard to get water into the engine with the height of the air inlet tubing and the carbon mesh lining inside the Top Airbox and Drains on the lower box.
Compared to the Aftermarket intakes, the tubing allows a direct channel of air or possibly water to Throttle-body/engine then hydrolocking if enough water does get in.
If you do get a Volant Intake, Get the AEM Dry-Filter compared to the Volant Conical Filter below:
Flange Base Top Height
3.50 6.00 4.75 6.00
Also be sure to get a Pre-Filter,... extra insurance for dirt/water/mud
HAPPY MODDING, once you start you'll never STOP!

Can you hear the true-flow intake? I've had K&N intakes on past vehicles and it sounds like dark vader in the glove box!
Its actually not that much louder than stock nothing like K&N I've heard some of them it will give your exhaust a throatier sound also pull out that carbon filter out of the top of the airbox.
