Forced Induction SystemsDetailed discussions regarding cold-air intake systens, superchargers, turbo chargers, and other induction systems for your vehicle.
This is a discussion thread titled "Feedback on Exhaust", within the Forced Induction Systems forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have a new 2006 Double Cab Tundra and am trying to find a good, bolt on exhaust that will have a good tone and improve performance. I already have a K&N Intake system and JBA Headers on the way. Other than that, I have a TRD package and everything else is stock.
My experience is the Magnaflow sounds much better than stock. I can't speak for the performance because I only had about 150 miles on it when I did the swap so I had babied it to that point.
Some folks say it sounds better without the resonator but I believe you will need to take it to a shop for the removal. If you buy the catback system you can do it yourself in the garage. It took me about 20 minutes to remove the stock exhaust and another 30 to install the catback system. Getting the stock system out of the rubber hangers was the most time consuming task of the install. If you still want it louder you can get the resonator removed later on.

dont listen to All these loaded ****ers.. Haha just kidding you guys rule.
from my experience, anything other than stock will hurt you. I ran tailpipe in bed mod for awhile, then switched to a single pipe from resonator back, then to duals from resonator. They got quieter respectivly, but i would wait till you get your intake. That things pretty darn loud, and the sound goes away when you want it to. I am going to hack the resonator here soon just for ****s and giggles. performance: stick to stock, Sound: straight pipe the bitch. O, and i paid 311 for the duals and 120 for the single, both with nice chrome (not stainless) tips

I love what I did. Not loud in the cab at all! But some heads do turn out side. 22" Magnaflow, installed by muffler shop, with a Magnaflow exhuast tip. Was very inexpensive, same as a full cat back system, but much less $$.
