Default FS:Factory JBL 6-Disc Head Unit and Sub 08 Tundra

Hey Guys ,

i replaced my stereo so i thought id put the OEM one up for sale.

I have the factory 6-Disc JBL Stereo with bluetooth, satellite radio etc.

Also have the stock 8" Sub and box out of my 2008 CrewMax.

These would work with all Tundra's 2007-2009.

As for the sub, it would probably work in previous years as well.

Feel free to post or PM me an offer on 1 or both.

I have no problem shipping.

Thanks.

Do you have any pics? Do you think it would be a plug and play for a Tundra with just the base AM/FM CD Player? I'm worried it has a completely different harness...

I can snap a picture when i get home.

It is plug and play for your stereo.

the bluetooth won't work without adding something.

but the 6 disc would work, and you can add satellite radio to it.

I can take a picture when i get home if you are interested.

This is exactly what i have:

Silly question but...that looks like the non JBL system in my Tundra so how can I make sure that is a JBL? Where does the sub go and does the wire coneecting the stereo to the sub come with it?

The little gold JBL logo in the upper right corner of the radio is all that identifies it as a JBL HU.

There may also be an external JBL amp under the Passengers seat that is needed for the HU to work.

Thanks! Are all the Tundra's pre-wired for the amp or is that something I would need to run?

You will need to run the loom for the AMP and if you don't have them you may need the steering controls although it should work without

Should work without but you wont have phone control, I would check on the price of the loom it may be prohibitively expensive anyway, and then you need the factory AMP I believe you are talking around $450 for everything that is the cost if you need to do a NAV upgrade from standard obviously plus the NAV kit.

everything will work except the bluetooth .. you will need a seperate button installed to use that .. but you can get a bluetooth system installed on a car for $100-$150.

If you're interested i will check and see if i have the factory amp.

What kind of price are you looking at? I have been debating replacing the stock HU with an aftermarket one so I know what they cost...

My fear is the JBL system won't work unless you know without a doubt your truck is pre-wired for the JBL System. A few what if's like.. What if my truck does not have the JBL wiring, will anything work without the factory amp? and more importantly sound good? I'm assuming without the JBL amp the sub is not going to work. How important is the Steering wheel controls & Bluetooth? Will the system still work if the steering wheel side of the wiring harness is left unplugged as well as the Bluetooth?

Tell ya what.. Let me know where the factory JBL Amp resides and I'll check my truck and see if I can locate any pre-wiring there. If there is wiring.. I would say chances are looking good that this will be just plug and play..
