Default Unichip PNP setup for 07-5.7

***Scroll to post #15 for Update***

All original packaging, used for maybe 3 months, and removed my exhaust and went back to stock. (Removed chip as well since it is mapped for exhaust) So now its laying in my back seat needing a new home. Like new condition.

Good price, I just bought one for $300 shipped...and for anyone interested in getting it "flashed" for your mods Unichip only charges $25.

How would this work on a stock 2007 TRD? What improvements would I see?

You can search the second gen forum and find varying opinions on the unichip. My experiences with it were very slightly improved gas mileage, a decent boost to the old "butt dyno" and improved shifting. The shifting is something I wasnt expecting, something that isnt advertised (to my knowledge) and something that many others have not experienced. Go figure... I would suspect on a stock truck you would see better gas mileage increase than on a modified truck...especially since I run 305's.

From what I have heard the best results come with a dyno tune but I really didnt have it long enough to get serious about it, now it is just collecting dust.

On the one I bought there is a flip switch that allows you to have a "tune" for 87 octane which is 10-12hp and then a 93 octane "tune" that gains up to 30hp...this is from Unichip reps when I called and talked to them.

I wasnt aware of those exact number but I did know about the switch...thanks for explaining that to others. And to those wondering, yes mine has the switch; to my knowledge they all do.

Unichip still has some proving to do, but I ran 5.8 and 6.0 seconds in the 0-60 tonight. That is flying compared to without it as I was running 6.2-6.5s without it. WOW! We will see how it runs for the next few weeks and then I will give my judgement! Right now, I would say it was worth the $350 plus $15 for shipping that I paid! It is mapped for my TRD CAI and Borla Dual Exhaust.........

yes it will. pnp is short for plug n' play or a pigyback setup...it just means it plugs into your main wiring harness.

My chip is mapped for exhaust and k&n filter so it would couple well with your setup. If you ever add any more mods you can send it back to unichip and get it remapped to match your modifications...for a small fee of course.

Edit: It will work as long as your truck is the 5.7

For all to know...
My unit is still for sale, no takers yet. However, it is currently on its way to unichip since it seemed like most people were only interested if it had the updated harness...thus the slight price increase to help cover my shipping costs. $40 to ship there and back, only asking $25 additional. taking price to $275 which is still much cheaper than I have seen on here in the past, especially for the updated harness...let me know if there is any new interest.
