Default Good, inexpensive GPS w/ video output??

Hi, I have a screen mounted in my car right near the center console (pretty large LCD). I am able to use it for ipod video, etc. What I wondered is if anyone knows a brand/model that has a video output that I can use with this screen? I figured it could be an inexpensive gps with a small built in screen since I would be viewing the map on the large screen anyway. If anyone knows of such a product or has used one and also knows the cost, please let me know! Thanks.

BTW, I have had experience with the garmin nuvi 660 and it has a touch screen. Very good GPS but it is on the expensive side to me ($600-$900) and it also doesnt' seem to have a video output jack..

Thanks again.

I dont know of any units that will output the gps maps, other than a computer. They only output dvd video. The price range for gps nav units with video output will most likely all be higher than the $600 range you are looking for. You will most like have to compromise somehow. Do your research and find one that best fits your needs and price range. Good Luck!

Hi, I appreciate the reply. Well, I was thinking if there is some kind of video output (like to a laptop, etc.) couldn't it be converted to compsite that will work with an LCD tv screen? Because if they can convert a laptop video (monitor) output signal to work with a lcd projector or large tv that has composite video inputs, wouldn't it be the same as taking a computer monitor signal from a gps unit and converting it to composite video outputs a lcd screen that has composite inputs?? Got any names and models of ones with video output? Thanks...

Your gonna need a laptop with the gps software installed in it. Most laptops have a video out port. Some even have a composite out. You will either have to buy a laptop that has composite out or buy a d-sub to rca out video converter if it exists.

Your best bet would be to buy a car pc and install it hidden under your seat. Otherwise you will have a laptop sitting in the passenger's side seat pumping gps video out to your lcd screen.

Either way this will cost more than $600.
