Default Back Up Camera-Better Option?

Not sure anyone has posted this option yet (if I missed it in another thread, let me know). I have seen some creative setups to get backup cameras installed in Tundras/Seqs, etc. however, for me, I do not want to drill any holes or modify my tailgate handle. I have checked out the Boyo VTL-300 as a good option, as there is no drilling and the plug and play setup works well. The unit is built into the license plate frame. Easy setup, easy to remove in the future. I am going to try this option to hook into my new Alpine HU. Has anyone else tried this product?

i have it, just installed it with a 3.5" monitor.. the picture is a little bit grainy, but you cant really tell unless you put your face right up to the monitor... also, i dont know if the graininess is from the camera or the monitor.. i have a few pics in my gallery

Thanks. It looks fine to me in your pics. I also saw a demo at a local shop here and the picture looked pretty good on a 6.5" or 7" monitor. I think it gets the job done well, especially with NO Drill required. I am not aware of any other options as a bolt-on, unless someone has seen something different??

I have the eclipse bec-105. I originally had it installed on the bumper by the license plate, but after reading a couple of post by other members who had them installed in the tailgate handle, I decided to do the install. The install was really easy. It took me about an hour from start to finish. You do have to drill a hole in the handle for the cable to fit through, but it is fairly small and you cant see it unless you look under the handle when you lift it up. The field of view was alot better, especially since I use it for trailer hook ups. It looks good, easy install, and better field of view (compared to bumper). I would recommend it to anyone.

Hey Core64, can you snap a pic of your monitor so I can see what that camera angle looks like?

Sorry I didnt get it posted yesterday, was to tired. Been working 12hr shifts. This picture was taken about 5 mins ago (8:30pm pst), so kind of grainy because it is dark outside. Its actually not bad considering the only light available is the backup taillights.

Is that your bumper at the bottom of the pic? I installed one of the cheapie VR3 camera's from WalMart today. I couldn't angle the license plate camera to see the bumper Also, the video flickered badly so I immediately removed the whole thing. If you don't mind telling, what did your system cost?

Sorry took so long, just got back from Yosemite. Yes that is the bumper in the bottom of the picture. One that that is great about the bec-105, is that it can pivot up or down, so you can get any angle you want. I will post another picture of it during the day so you can get clearer shot, maybe today or tomorrow.

Camera cost was $160 off of ebay. I orginally had the toyota nav unit, I think I paid around $1500 from oemvalue.com. The unit you see in the picture is the eclipse avn-6100 which I just installed about 4 months ago, and cost $1600 or $1700 cant remember exact price.
