Default GPS Navigation question

How do you dim the GPS screen display when driving over night?
It surely does NOT do it automatically like my Garmin GPS and I don’t see any gadget on the dashboard to adjust the brightnes of the screen. In the setting GPS Menue I don’t see any option for screen light control. Anybody knows what to do?
Please advise ASAP.
Best regards and Merry Christmas.

then you must be driving with your headlights off. turn on the headlights, and voila, your screen turns from white to black.

Quick question!!! When you are using the blue tooth on a phone call and you change it to a map, how can you change it back to the phone screen again?
Thanks

Hit the MAP button and it will display the map. Hit the Off-Hook button on the steering wheel to change back to Bluetooth display.

You are right isn't apparent but if you look on the right hand side there is a button marked display. Use that to set brightness and/or adjust contrast.
However, what I haven't been able to do yet is to have the display keep daytime settings in the day when you use headlights!! Still looking for that.

this must be due to the fact that you guys dont have auto headlights?? i just leave my headlights in auto. and when it gets dark enough, the screen goes to its dim mode.

even if i have the lights set to ON. the dim display wont kick in until the light sensors say its dark enough.

but without auto headlights, you would lack that sensor i assume. so thats probably why it doesnt work right.

Push the display button. In that mode you should see an on screen button that says "Day Mode". Push that and your display will keep the brighter daylight screen even with your headlights on. The day mode button can't be used if the headlights aren't on, however.

Does anyone have the problem of the GPS being way off? I've reset it about everyday and it just does its own thing. I started to notice this problem after the XM unit was installed. The toyota tech said something about the XM unit being located too close to the GPS plug and therefore throwing it out of whack. Is there a proximity issue that anyone is aware of between the 2? The XM unit is the vais technology unit which a local stereo shop installed for me. I also have of course the JBL factory nav unit.

Thanks

Well, just got off the phone with the tech help with Vais Technology and he said it is due to the version of the model I have. I just need to pull it out and send it to him and him will update the unit and ship it back to me the same day!!!
