Default Hardwire kit Nuvi GPS

I would like to hardwire my Nuvi. Has anyone tried this kit from amazon? Seems like hardwire kit already has converter/fuse. Best way is probably tap into cigarette adaptor since power is on w/ ignition but Ive never hardwire b4 so wouldnt know what to do. Anyone with experience please post. Thanks!

Just be carefull with it as Nuvi.s tend to fry if you don'T power them off before you remove power from the adapter. I know the screen will pop and ask you if you want it to stay on but I've seen many fried NUVI's because of this exact situation.

Are you saying that I should manually turn mine off before I cut the ignition? Because, I have had mine ~ 6 months and I never do this.... but it would be a hell of a lot of money to risk..... thanks for the heads up
