navigation DVD Audi S8 USA/Europe

Hi,
I'm taking my car (Audi S8) to Europe where I work now, my US navigation DVD is worthless here ; does anyone know if I can use a European navigation DVD in my US car ?
Audi USA could not answer !!!
The Audi dealer in Europe said he does not want to take the risk of introducing a European DVD in my US car , since it might damaged the European DVD ...if it does not work !
