Default Nav Unit Removal Writeup?

Does anyone have a writeup with pics on how to remove the stock head unit or navigation unit? I am adding Sirius satellite radio and want to do the install myself. BTW...if anyone has hints on where to route the antenna wire (particularly from the exterior to the interior), please let me know as well. Thanks!

Matt

You can look at the OEMValue instructions on how to upgrade/install a new NAV which include the removal of the old radio. Let me give you the readers digest version.

Step 1: Push your air vents so they point up and remove the two screws behind them.

Step 2: Pull the center console bezel out

Step 3: You will see the factory radio held in by 4 bolts. Remove the bolts and it slides right out.

It couldn't be any simpler.

Default Re: Nav Unit Removal Writeup?

I just finished the nav upgrade (all functions all the time) and had to remove the unit from the dash, could not be easier. I do not have the 4 wheel dr, I have a coin holder where the 4 wheel dr selector is. I gently pulled on the coin holder and the frame pulls out just enough to pull and unsnap the temp control frame. from that point you will need a 10mm socket w a 6" or longer extention. Remove the four bolts that hold in the unit and it just slides out.
Except for the four bolts that hold in the nav unit everything just snaps apart / together. This is on the 07 / 08 models. I had an 06 Tundra DC that was very different.
