Default E7006 Nav in Highlander Hybrid

Hello everyone,
I am trying to put an E7006 unit in my 2006 HiHy, but what I thought was plug and play ends up being a real pain. All the connectors are perfect, the unit powers up, Nav works flawlessly too!

However the Volume is uncontrollable and on MAX all the time unless I push the power button, then the radio turns off, but then I am left with a "buzz" sound coming through all four speakers!

The unit originally came out of a 2005 Sienna Limited XLE. Connectors are exactly the same.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
