Default How do I find the "generation" of a Toyota DVD Nav System?

I have the following vehicles:

2005 Toyota Highlander V6 AWD
2005 Lexus ES 330

Both have v4.2 navigation map DVDs.

How do I find out the "generation" of my navigation systems so that I can purchase the proper upgrade DVDs?

If this has been answered in a previous thread, I apologize for re-posting such a question. I searched the threads and couldn't find the answer.

Thanks in advance.

If it means much, the following procedure works to access the service menu and override option on both of my nav systems:

6. Press the lower left corner of the screen. You should now be into the "hidden" Service menu.
7. Press and hold the Override button until it beeps.
8. Press the Back button to return to navigation.

I believe you can "pop" out the NAV disc and it should tell you which Generation it is on front of disc...but I haven't been able to actually confirm this as yet...I'll look at mine tonight and get back to you...B.

Thanks. If you can figure it out, I'd appreciate the help.

I looked at my discs (briefly, I'll admit) and I couldn't tell the generation number for the overall system.

Check out the link below...it talks about your Highlander 2005 being a Gen 4...etc.

I checked my OEM disc from my 07 Tundra & you are right, no Gen info...maybe link will help...Brad

Thanks. Looks like a good find (if the site's information is accurate).

Cheers.

Just curious...why do you need Generation info? It does look like a good site...Brad
