This is a discussion thread titled "In-dash Tundra GPS?", within the GPS and Navigation Assistance forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
1. Has anyone heard if the T Double Cab will be comming out with an option for an in-dash GPS unit??
2. If not has anyone done a mod to there dash, besides alpine or kenwood, with a in-dash GPS?
3. Got Pics????
Go with Panasonic, it is a touch screen 6.5" and the nav system is good too. I am getting one after I spend a crap load of money lifting my new d/c and putting wheels and tires on it too.

I didn't realize there was an "In Dash" GPS available for the Tundra. If anyone knows of these please let me know where you got yours. I will do a little search myself right now.
Thanks
Sammy

Hey there pplz. Im gonna need your expert advice on this. I just got my tundra and looking to get ideas on GPS.. I do alot of door to door sales using my truck and i can definitly could use a navigation system on my truck.. im look also to upgrade my stock HU.. So tell me is there any cheap route doing this and wat do u recommend.. thanks please send me some PM's..
Less than $1000 touch screen talks to you. In my opinion better than the in dash units because it is portable. You can take it from car to car and you can hide it so it wont get ripped off. Do what I did and go with the garmin 2610.
The Pioneer AVIC-N1 fits in the dash with room to spare for the little cubby hole under it like in my '93 Toy pickup when they had the single DIN chassie before CD's. It has more features than my wife's Lexus LS 430. You can find it at www.pioneerelectronics.com or at www.crutchfield.com.
Do a search. I know a few people have put the Toyota (Solara or Camry) nav system in their Tundra. There's been a few threads on this. There's also some photos in the photo section.

Rlockyer did a great job with the instuctions. If you have any questions on my install you can PM me. I had the the DVD system in my truck and it adapted with the Navi just fine.

I am weeks away from purchasing a Garmin for my Tundra. I will look into the panasonic due to the recomedation. Can anyone elaborate more on the Panasonic over the Garmin? I was leary about the panasonic vs. the Garmin because Panasonic has their hands in all kinds of electronics across the market and it seems to me Garmin really only focuses on Navigation via GPS and I am confident they do a good job, easy, user frindly, etc.
Holy old posts, Batman! There are hundreds of threads about in dash GPS units on this board. Toyota offers Fujitsu Ten GPS systems on their current models (same company that makes Eclipse units)
Many users have installed Eclipse, Pioneer, Alpine, etc. in their rides. Search the boards.
oemvalue.com has oem GPS units.
