Default Wiring Navigation Sytem

Does anyone know which color wires are for the speed sensor and reverse on a 01 Sequoia LTD? I am getting the unit from oemvalue and the manual I ordered will get here after the nav sys (figures)! You know it's impossible to just let the nav sys sit around all weekend and wait. Also, does anyone know where the screws are to take off the HVAC cover and cluster. They seem to be different than the Tundra without the digital temp. I found the screws in the vents but the two bottom knobs don't seem to pull off. I didn't want to pull too hard.
Thanks for all the help in advance guys. I'll post pictures next week.

robpaul5,
Can you post a link or a pic of the nav system?? I am curious to see what it looks like, perhaps I may be interested in installing one soon.

Thank you.

To remove the radio you don't need to follow all the instructions, just step 15 and 16. The "Combination Meter" is Toyota's fancy name for the gauge cluster. PS - it is the connections to the "Combination Meter" that have your reverse and speed sensor wires.

I just purchased a Camry navigation system from oemvalue. I've been reviewing the many posts on this topic. Lots of good information in the various threads. My main concern is removing both dash panels. I've downloaded instrument panel removal instructions for the 2001 Sequoia. Do these instructions apply to the 2004 Sequoia too, or have things changed between those model years?

Thanks,
Greg

I did mine as per the instructions and it works perfectly. Not really a hard install at all. Two screws on the center bezel, four on the head unit, two on the cluster trim and four on the cluster. I had surgery the day before doing my install and even with 20 staples in me it only took about two hours. Good luck you'll love it!!

Smile NAV system installation

Those who have installed the Camary NAV unit, have you notice an improvement in the sound quality? Does Toyota Warrant the unit? Is there an installer in Houston who can do this for those of us who are not that talented?

Compared to the stock Tundra amp, yes. Better quality and more power. Compared to the stock JBL, probably identical but I really couldn't say.

No. I think OEMValue gives you 30 or 60 days, but as far as Toyota is concerned, it's a used piece of equipment.

nhparrot,
I'm new to the forum. I wanted to download the attachements you mention in your post about removing the Sequoia instrument panel, but I don't see any sign of your attachments in your post. Where do I find these? (I'm a subscriber)
Thanx.......teeman

Does adding a non-dealer installed aftermarket Nav affect the trucks factory warranty. I know they don't warranty the NAV itself but will it void the warranty in any other way? Thanks!!

legally they cannot void your warranty due to an aftermarket part or modification unless the part/mod is what causes the failure... Even then, they simply will not warranty the affected part(s). It's very difficult to have the entire warranty voided -- usually only happens when the title is branded (i.e.: salvage)
