On our 03 Camry you need the address or you can search for the area and pin point it on the map and save it. I've found it's not as complete as say DeLormes Street Atlas and it won't recognize addresses in smaller cities. I'd say cities that are not suburbs of a metropolitan area are not going to show if they are less than 40/50 k in population. It will show the streets on screen when you are there but won't preselect an address. If you do visit an area and want to save that location it will do that for a future trip.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

Thanks for your answer back but this was what I'm talking about
:
You can select your destination by pushing the "Dest" button and entering the address, Point of Interest menu, emergency, name, memory, coordinates, phone #, intersection, or by manually selecting it on the touch screen.
:
see where it says phone # that's what I mean.

I have never heard of any navigation system that uses a database of phone numbers to find a location. Addresses don't change like phone numbers do. You can have a phone number unlisted, but not an address.

As you probably know, there is computer software which will give an address for a phone number. Then you could enter the address into the GPS device.

Well I got the answer
If you know the phone number of a business and not the location, you can type the phone number in the Navigation system and it will point out the location of the business. & thats only a business

Like I said earlier ours couldn't find an address in a MN city with about 25,000 population. It would set a screen that tried to convince me to go to Detroit or New Jersey something with a similar street name. I finally tracked it down using the map, which did show the street but wouldn't deal with numbers. That's what happens in the boonies.
I've got a long learning curve before I'm capable of using all it has to offer. Matter of fact as long as it'll get me home I'm happy. When I'm brave enough I may even venture into downtown St. Paul.

I was talking to a friend who works for a Mercedes dealer and we were talking about NAV systems. I forget if the Pioneer NAV in his flatbed or the current Benz models has it,it's defintely one of the two
