Default Navigation DVD Updates

Does anyone know how often the DVD Navigation will be updated and where to get them? According to the manual "Geographic Data Technologies" makes the database and holds the copyrights. The manual also says "This system uses the maps of DENSO". I haven't been able to find anything regarding the availability of map updates or any sources other than the dealer. I think DENSO created the software and GDT makes the map database.... If Toyota is like Acura an updated database will be available aproximately every year.

I know on our 03 Camry Navteq provided the map data and the version is mid 2002. From what I've found Toyota updates are only available from the dealers and they seem to be updated every 18 to 24 months. I have checked ebay and the Navteq site for updates and have found nothing. I can get the next revision for mine from Steve at Carson Toyota but I'm going to wait for the following update before I spend close to $200 for one.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
