Default European Nav Unit in America

I came across a european toyota navigation unit and I was wondering if it would work in an american toyota vehicle? I don't know how different it would be so I thought I might ask. Thanks in advance.

I think the only difference is the DVD for the US versus Europe. Is there a model number on the bezel (or label).

$.02

The model number on the unit is B9003. I've searched the net looking for information to determine if it will work, but it doesn't seem like it's been attempted. Maybe that's my answer.

I don't believe that the DVD will work in your US Specs Toyota because of the different regens that read the DVD. What type of Toyota and year do you have? what vehicle is the European DVD from?

yes huff is right. the dvd map is regionalized and will only play in its european region equipment hence the b in front of the 7003 insead of e which is north amaerica region. . it could be possible to copy the european firmware so the gps would respond but then insert the usa map data on the dual layer copy. that is what many owners are doing on the latest usa 6.1 toyota gps map they are copyng the 5.1 firmware and the 6.1 map that has lost its overide capability.
even more problematic is buying from a foriegn seller. at least with usa sellers your covered by paypals $1000 guarantee of delivery but doesnt cover foreign ebay auctions.
