Default 2005 DC Navigation install OEM

Hi,

I have been researching the OEM navigation for my Tundra lately, just have a quick question. I always drive with my lights on just because its easier, and safer I think. Anyways, I saw that the OEM navigation screen has a "night" mode that blackens the screen when the headlights are turned on. Is there any way around this? Other than pressing the display button? I really dont want to have to do that every single time I start up the truck. My other GPS only blackens the display at certain times, not light conditions. Any help would be great.

yes there is a way around this mode on factory and On my Pioneer system you have to go into setting and change that option. Even on my dads 06 accord 2 door his car has that feature it's pretty standard for a factory and aftermarket navi on some system Ill double check on the toyo head unit since i used to have this unit and traded to a better Navi unit..

I don't know if this makes sense, but I still want the night mode, but only AT NIGHT, lol, during the day if I have my lights on, I do not want it to go to night mode. Are you saying the Toyota Headunit has an option to dim according to time of day instead of headlight activity?

i know what your saying vs the Night mode you want daytime mode when used at night even when I drive with navi On i bypass the night mode because at times it's hard to see and you can change the setting for most anything day or night... My aftermarket navi will dim when lights are on but you can go into the navi settings and change the contrast...

ok, well i dont think it has the "time of day" feature, but it does memorize your "night feature off" selection, so I guess if I drive at night, i have to hit display, then night. O well, I drive mainly during the day, so it shouldnt be a problem. Toyota really should re think this, they need an option for the "night mode" to be only between lets say 8pm to 6am, or a user selected time
