OK folks, I'm trying to install the BEC105. Problem is, I can't figure out how to remove the head unit! Can anyone help me out here? My truck is in pieces at the moment until I figure this out
You have to remove the plastic bezel that surrounds the head unit. It is held in place by 5 screws. There are 3 screws behind the knobs (1 screw behind each knob). Pull the knobs off and remove those screws. Then there are 2 other screws that are at the top of the AC vents. Push the bottom of the AC vents in and the top of the vent will move forward toward you and you will see the other 2 screws which are hidden by the vents(1 screw above each vent). Remove those screws and then pop the plastic bezel off the dash. The head unit is held in by 4 10mm bolts. Remove those bolts and you should be able to remove the head unit. There are several cables attached to the back of the head unit so you won't be able to pull it all the way out without disconnecting them. There is a connection in the back of the head unit that the BEC105 plugs into. It should take about 10 minutes to do this if you have never done it before. Installation is just the reverse of removal.
