GPS and Navigation AssistanceOEM Car, Aftermarket and handheld navigation discussions.
This is a discussion thread titled "Factory Nav from "OEMValue"???", within the GPS and Navigation Assistance forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
I have an 05 Double Cab Limited with the JBL system, so it sounds like it's going to be a real snap to install the navigation. Is everything in the unit or is there any other equipment that gets installed under the seat or somewhere else? I'm wondering if it would be best to get the OEM nav or get the Fujitsu Ten nav? I looked at the 07 Tundras and that confirmed for me that it was time to just purchased my 05 after being on lease for almost 2 years. I always wanted to put the nav in, but didn't want to on a leased vehicle. Now I own it, so it's time!
I finally said, "what the heck" and ordered a unit from OEM. At least I tried to...
I completed the billing address field and then checked the box that the shipping address is not the same - and clicked "continue" to go to the next field. The program then tells me that I need to fill in the address, and the field-labels for address, city & zip are all in red. Of course, I had already completed the form but, for reasons unknown, the address wouldn't process. I tried it again, from scratch, with the same result. The system literally will not permit me to order....
I tried to email the seller, AGAIN, but he doesn't answer emails, and there is no phone number...
I'm interested in similarly simple alternatives. Is the Eclipse unit simple, idiot-proof and "plug and play" too.

Please tell me why you would want to Do Bussiness with Oem Value
There all Plug and play Eclipse makes the Factory unit's for Toyota but feature wise they don't have everything..

I got a 2007 Sequoia back in September, 2006. It came with the E0006 Model Nav System (no backup camera, no bluetooth, no integrated XM). I would really love to have all those missing items... my phone has blue tooth, I have an XM subscription, can't see when backing up). I do have the JBL system already.
1) So would the E0009 still be plug-n-play?
2) Is it worth upgrading?
3) Is there a market for my E0006 to recoup my upgrade costs?
4) How hard is it to get the old unit out and new unit in?
I'd hate to crack or scratch the dashboard trying to pry something out.
Or is there a way to get all those neat features into an E0006?
Please tell me why you would want to Do Bussiness with Oem Value

I'd hate to do business with OEMValue, because I'd hate to support AWFUL customer service. I got to the point of holding my nose and doing it anyway because,
1) My wife wants a "simple" nav system. (She finds my Z1 "more work than fun".)
2) I want a cheaper system - and plug-n-play helps with that, as I will not have to pay for installation.
3) My wife likes the idea of having an all-factory truck.
4) The reviews on the factory system are generally good
But, as I said, I gave up on the idea, because I couldn't get past the address field in their order system and, as we've established, they don't respond to email.

Hello, I'm a first timer here and I'm really mad at Toyota because of their unwillingness to address the problem with the new NAV System !! I've called the dealership and Toyota headquarters and all I get is MAYBE in next years upgrade I'll be able to find my 10 year old house in a 150 year old supdivision !! My wifes Lexus GPS works fine. All it is,is a dressed up Toyota.Whats up with the attitude with a new GPS/NAV system that costs $1650 that a $100 hand held GPS can do.
I really want the new Tundra with the in-dash GPS,so why can''t someone figure out whats wrong with it?????

It would be a help if someone knew exact which nav system you have, which version of the data DVD you have, what vehicle you have. Having said that, couple of points. The maps are produced by Navteq. They are the ones responible for updating the maps. It appears clearly to be an oversite on their part if you house is not showing up. I believe you can contact them to report this issue. It has nothing to do with Toyota.

Seriously, My street address doesn't come up either, But I Mark the position by Lat. & Long. and it becomes my Home adress. Navtech is at fault for missing Whole Blocks sometime. Go to their site and give them the correction they welcome input. But it is not a Toyota issue and Toyota disclaims that it is a Toyota defect.
I installed one in my '00 Tundra where I had to replace the
instrument bezel with an '04 piece ($$$) to get the correct
size opening for the Nav head unit. I had to buy a JBL
amp and harness (no JBLs in '00) (more $$$$), and I had
to fabricate mounting brackets to mount the much larger
amp. It was a lot of work but the system works great,
looks great and sounds great - worth every penny.
dogger
Please let us know where do you get the JBL amp and hardness.
I have 2007 Toyota Sienna LE 6 CD Fujitsu-Ten (non JBL).
Interesting post. I had first heard of OEM Value from a post on this site about a year ago. At that time people were ranting and raving about the nav systems they got from OEM Value. Sounds like they have gone down hill since. What I can tell you about OEM Value is that they are based in Southern WI (don't remember exactly what town). About a year ago they were selling these units on E-bay. They had a phone number at that time. The info I received from OEM Value is that if you have the JBL system in your truck already, then it is a plug and play system. At the time they included everything needed including the antenna and if I remember right a nav brain box. As to how they were able to get their hands on these units when my local dealer couldn't even get them as a replacement, they didn't respond (didn't really expect them to). The impression I had gotten is that this is not a full time business for OEM Value. Good luck and hope all works out.
