Default Adding Navigation to 2005 Tundra w/ RSE

Greetings All,

I recently purchased my first Toyota (The TS website was key to my purchase so THX).

2005 Tundra Limited Double Cab with Rear Seat Entertainment.

I really, really wanted navigation as well but gave up after spending way to many hours on the net looking for the perfect Tundra.

Anyway, I want to add Navigation and I would like to integrate the existing RSE. I have spent hours reviewing the forum about the best NAV unit (Eclipse AVN 6600 vs. Avic Z1 vs. E7009) and I have come away more confused than ever.

With that background out of the way, I guess I have one (or four) questions.

1. Has anyone successfully (and simply) added Navigation to a tundra with factory RSE?

2. Which unit?

3. Who installed?

4. Do the OEMvalue products actually install and work as advertised?

Thanks in advance for your help.

the 5th generation e7009 will not work with your 4th genration nav system. the wiring is totally diferent. the best unit would be the 4th genration e7006 which was the 2005 2006 4th generation tundra unit. the screen fits perfectly all the amps and wiring and steering wheel controls all integrate perfcetly. email me at pioneersuby@woh.rr.com and i can send more info on this retrofit with pictures.

Before purchasing from OEM, you might want to research this thread.

Factory Nav from "OEMValue"???

Thanks for the tip.

I have read that thread and it sounds like some dude is trying to get a business going from his garage. Can't blame him for trying.

Pioneersuby has mentioned some other options that I am definately interested in.

I would like to have the "latest technology" but trying to avoid the " fast and furious" look.

We shall see.
