Default Eclipse AVN 5510 Question

Wow..I havent been on this board for awhile - I geuss its what you get for having such a reliable truck! Anyways, I was contemplating on getting a aftermarket unit on my truck and grew a lot of interest in the new 5510. Two quick questions for you guys and yes, I've searched. BTW i have a 04 DC With the JBL stereo.

1. Will the 5510 be compatible with the steering wheel controls?

-I haven't read anywhere that they would, but i haven't read anywhere that they wouldn't. So which is it?

2. I read something about a bigger gap with the head unit surrounding when oyu install double din units on the 04-06 tundras.

-Could be very possible because my previous 02 tundra did have a smaller head unit face. Can someone elaborate on this? Will I have vertical holes that i would be able to see through?

Im still on the fence about this and maybe this can help me choose. I know the quality of eclipse products as i once was a hardcore audiofile. any help is much appreciated!

Default Re: Eclipse AVN 5510 Question

There will be space on the sides but there are kits you can buy to fill it up. I had to use the same kit on my 02 highlander when i replaced the radio with a avic-z1
Metra Online

link above has is kit you need. Or you can go to crutchfield.com and they can tell you what kit they sell for your dash.
